At approximately 160 km from the city of Barcelona, in the heart of the Spanish Pyrenees you will find the ski resort of La Molina. It was the first ski resort in Spain (opened in 1911) and therefore offers you excellent facilities and of course outstanding slopes. The resort of Masella is just a short way from La Molina and together they are offering you numerous slopes and runs on an extensive area. The season here starts around the beginning of December and ends in early May. To get the most out of the slopes there are snow cannons which keep the runs covered, although this is only necessary towards the end of the season.
In La Molina itself you will find slopes for beginners but also for the more experienced skier and for professionals. The resort offers 31 slopes, including 7 easy runs (green), 8 medium runs (blue), 13 hard runs (red) and 3 very hard runs (black). To get from the resort centre to the slopes which can be as high as 2540 metres, you can make use of the gondola, the 6 chair lifts or the 6 drag lifts that are available. Try the Muntanya Sagrada slope - one of the resorts best runs! Those who also like to ski cross country can take advantage of 3 km of trails through the forests and mountains.
Snowboarders will find the excellent Snow Park here where a half pipe, a super pipe, jumps, ramps and a competition track are located.
